Hot Dish, Four Sisters soup, and Nordic dancers were just a few highlights of Taste Diversity 2013, which took place March 6. The annual event — a collaborative effort between the School of Public Health Student Senate and Office of Admissions & Student Resources — highlighted the state of Minnesota through food, song and personal stories.

More than 100 students, staff and faculty members attended and sampled Swedish meatballs, green bean casserole, Banh Mi, sweet corn tamales, and cinnamon lefse.

“You really have all the Minnesota food represented well,” said SPH Dean John Finnegan, who was a guest judge for the event’s first-ever hot dish contest. Congrats to Ellen Saliares, who took home top honors with her ham, cheese and potato hot dish.
