Master of Public Health (MPH)

MPH degrees are geared for those who want to practice in a public health setting. Our MPH degrees meet the Association of Schools of Public Health core competencies in the following areas:

Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA)

The MHA degree is a practice-based, professional degree that meets the competencies identified by both the accrediting agency for healthcare administration programs and those of the ASPH.

Master of Science (MS)

MS degrees are geared for those seeking a career in research and academics. We offer MS degrees in the following areas:

Doctoral (PhD)

We offer four PhD programs that prepare you to conduct and publish original research and/or to teach public health and medical professionals, scientists and students.

Our dual and joint degree programs provide a foundation in public health while complementing professional practice. Take a look at the areas of study within our school that offers opportunities for dual degrees with other programs.

Veterinary Medicine

The School of Public Health is home to a variety of unique institutes and programs tailored for students, alumni, and public health professionals.

Mentor Program
The School of Public Health boasts the largest mentor program of any public health school, serving approximately 400 students and mentors with special events and helpful resources for mentor pairs.

Public Health Institute
The Public Health Institute offers a course for everyone practicing in or studying public health or fields related to public health. Participants can expand their professional expertise, broaden career options, network with other professionals or explore a new area of interest.

Rothenberger Institute
The Rothenberger Institute provides students with the knowledge and life skills necessary to achieve healthier futures. Guided by the Division of Epidemiology & Community Health within the School of Public Health, the institute address the concerns of many school administrators and educators.

Summer Institute in Biostatistics
The Summer Institute in Biostatistics (SIBS) runs for six weeks in June and July. This program is designed to help students pursue a career in the field, providing a foundation in biostatistics, epidemiology and statistical computing.

School of Public Health minors give students in other disciplines an opportunity to integrate a foundation in public health theories and practice. Our minor programs include:

School of Public Health certificates and licensure programs are designed for members of the workforce seeking skills and credentials in specific areas.

Regents Certificates

These non-degree programs are designed for working health and human services professionals with little or no formal public health education, who wish to develop skills in a specific area of public health.

Licensure

We also offer a non-traditional licensure program for people who want to get licensed as a nursing home administrator or are seeking a career as a long-term care manager.
