Job Outlook

The current demand for Executive Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) graduates is very high due in part to a shortage of qualified executive management talent in health care organizations. In the next decade, as a significant proportion of current managers retire, clinical professionals will be moved into top positions, requiring advanced skills and learning to be successful.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, from 2021 to 2031, the projected growth rate for medical and health services managers is 28%, which is much faster than average. In May 2021, the median wage for this occupation was $101,340 annually and $48.72 per hour.

• More than 55 percent of our executive MHA students are promoted while enrolled in the program.

What Do Graduates Do?

The U.S. health care delivery marketplace is consolidating, thereby shifting the delivery model. Most, if not all, physicians are required to meet a health system’s mission and clinical care goals are integrated with hospitals in a unified business structure.

As health systems reach a critical mass of integrated physicians, traditional approaches to strategic and business planning and predictive modeling such as performance benchmarks, reference points, and decision-making models become less useful to leaders.

The Executive MHA addresses the need for advanced leadership and health care management education for clinical and administrative professionals in integrated health systems.
