Faculty Affairs

The School of Public Health (SPH) has more than 130 full-time faculty and instructors, as well as many affiliate and adjunct faculty members who advance the mission of the school and help train tomorrow’s public health leaders.

The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) enhances the faculty experience at SPH and the University of Minnesota (UMN) by advocating for faculty interests and perspectives. We oversee all faculty appointment matters, including the development, integration, and implementation of related SPH policies, processes, and procedures. Additionally, we serve as a resource for UMN faculty-related policies and procedures.

Key areas of support include:

  • new faculty appointments
  • promotion and/or tenure
  • continuation of probationary tenure track faculty
  • developmental leaves
  • leadership and development
  • recognition through nomination for national and university-level awards
  • misconduct and performance

Additional information and resources for faculty are available on the SPH intranet Office of Faculty Affairs section (UMN ID required).
