A published study by Assistant Professor Hannah Neprash was named Publication of the Year by AcademyHealth, the flagship health policy and services research organization in the United States. Neprash was recognized for her New England Journal of Medicine paper, “Physician Work Hours and the Gender Pay Gap — Evidence from Primary Care.” The study found that female primary care physicians earn less revenue for the care they provide, but spend more time with patients than their male colleagues.
