The Midwest Analytics and Disease Modeling Center (MADMC) is one of 13 centers across the United States funded by the CDC to build modeling and analytic capacity in health departments across the country. MADMC is a partnership between the University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Health, and Minnesota Electronic Health Records Consortium. Our goal is to provide public health agencies and health systems with data-driven, actionable insights into decision alternatives during public health emergencies.
The University of Minnesota Prevention Research Center (PRC) will focus on research, training, and interventions that improve nutrition, physical activity, and wellness among children most at risk for weight-related health issues from households with lower incomes and from historically underserved communities. In its newest 5 year-round of CDC funding beginning October 2024, the primary goals of the center will be to develop and disseminate actionable knowledge, enhance community and cross-sector collaboration, build infrastructure, and expand training for healthy weight promotion in children and their families. The UMN PRC is one of 20 academic research centers across the country conducting community-based applied public health research to address chronic diseases and other leading causes of death and disability in the US.
