The following biostatistics degrees are available at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
Doctoral (PhD)
The PhD in Biostatistics is a research-focused degree which takes approximately five years to complete. A Masters degree is not required for admission, and all PhD students receive a full tuition waiver plus a stipend.
Master of Science (MS)
The MS in Biostatistics takes two academic years for full-time students, but we also accept part-time students and will help plan a schedule for completing the MS.
Public Health Data Science (MPH)
Use advanced data science techniques to improve the way public health is practiced around the globe.
Minor in Biostatistics
Our Biostatistics minor is designed for students in non-biostatistics degree programs at the University of Minnesota. Minors are available for both master’s and doctoral degree-seeking students.
Minor in Public Health Data Science
Intended for graduate students not enrolled in the Public Health Data Science MPH program.
Applied Biostatistics Certificate, Online
Our online certificate is designed for people currently working as data managers or analysts, but who lack formal training in biostatistics and would like to gain relevant technical, mathematical and computational skills.
