Cannabis Use and Related Issues in the Legalization Era
While it remains prohibited by the federal government, two dozen states have legalized cannabis for non-medical use by adults — representing a majority of the U.S. population. This presentation will examine data on self-reported cannabis use, including how rates of cannabis use have changed over time and across demographic sub-populations, and how they differ between states that have legalized cannabis and those that have not. It will also explore data on public health issues related to cannabis use in Minnesota and at the U.S.-level, including self-reported prevalence of cannabis use disorder (i.e., addiction) symptoms and driving under the influence of cannabis.
