Leveraging Data Analytics and Disease Modeling to Support Public Health Decision Making for Parvovirus B19 Outbreaks
The Midwest Analytics and Disease Modeling Center (MADMC) was founded in order to build on the lessons of COVID-19 to be better prepared for future public health emergencies. It is a partnership between the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Health, and the Minnesota Electronic Health Records Consortium (MNEHRC), which brings together the 11 largest health systems in Minnesota that collectively provide care to over 90% of Minnesotans. As part of the national InsightNet network funded by the Center for Forecasting and Outbreak Analytics at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, MADMC will develop modeling and analytic infrastructure so that the Midwest, and the nation, will be better able to obtain and analyze data to help decision-makers weigh their options in a future public health emergency.
