We collectively tuned in for the NPHW kickoff forum at 1pm! Snacks were provided to celebrate NPHW and Grad Student Appreciation week.

SPH Photographer Chris Cooper hosted a portrait session from 1-4 p.m at the Mayo Memorial Auditorium Atrium (4th floor). Chris will be reaching out directly to participants with their photos.

SPH Research Day provides our students and faculty an opportunity to showcase their research activities to their colleagues and the broader University community. Check out the winners from this year’s event!

Agenda:
1:00 p.m: Poster session begins
2:15 p.m: 3-Minute Thesis Competition
3:00 p.m: Fireside chat with Dean Pettigrew
3:30 p.m: Award Ceremony
4:00 p.m: Event ends

We learned from incredible speakers including Senior Advisor to the U of M President for Native American Affairs Karen Diver, former North Dakota State Representative Ruth Buffalo, Elder and Storyteller Hope Flanagan, and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Office Director Juliet Rudie, who shared information on missing and murdered American Indian Women and Girls and the Red Dress Story.

This year’s hybrid Health Disparities Roundtable focused on preparing the public health workforce in addressing health equity and feature three expert speakers.

Storytelling through Public Service Announcement Poster Contest
Storytelling is a powerful public health tool that can inspire and shape community practices. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) provide avenues for timely storytelling and relaying pertinent messages to the public about a range of public health topics.
