Join SPH alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends in giving back! Volunteers are the heart of lasting change—raising awareness, driving action, and inspiring others to get involved. As part of Public Health Week, make a difference, strengthen your community, and celebrate the spirit of public health in action.
Ways to volunteer in your community:
Check out University of Minnesota Day of Service! Day of Service brings together the University of Minnesota global community of alumni and friends for the opportunity to serve in their communities. Since 2015, volunteers have served in many different ways curated by the University of Minnesota Alumni Association. Side by side the U of M community makes lasting impact around the world. Join others during the month of April to find your day to serve wherever you live.
VolunteerMatch – For 25 years, VolunteerMatch has been leading the charge in connecting volunteers with nonprofit organizations. Find opportunities in your area through VolunteerMatch.
Public health starts with each of us. It’s in the choices we make, the communities we build, and the impact we have on the world around us. As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of National Public Health Week, we invite you to share your creativity and vision through art. Show us what It Starts Here means to you—whether it’s the power of community, the importance of advocacy, or the everyday actions that create healthier futures. Submit your artwork and be part of a collective celebration of public health’s past, present, and future.
We will share a virtual art gallery during NPHW (April 7-13). A people’s choice award contest will take place during that week. Winners will have their art shared throughout the school and on social media.
Please submit your art by April 1, 2025.
