The Minnesota Electronic Health Record Consortium (MNEHRC) is a collaboration between the 11 largest health systems in Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Health, local public health agencies, and other healthcare stakeholders in Minnesota. The MNEHRC came together during the COVID-19 pandemic to evaluate trends in viral activity and vaccination among the general population, as well as among people recently experiencing homelessness or incarceration. In the last couple of years, each participating MNEHRC site has mapped their EHR data to a common data model that allows for faster and more efficient analyses across sites. The MNEHRC has also developed custom extensions of the model to accommodate housing and incarceration data. This model is scalable and could support analyses among vulnerable populations in other states. Dr. Winkelman will describe the development of this unique collaboration and the results it has generated to inform healthcare delivery for vulnerable populations in Minnesota.
