The Minnesota Technical Assistance Program (MnTAP) was awarded Finance & Commerce’s 2017 Progress Minnesota Award, which showcases economic development happening across the state. The program is housed in the University of Minnesota School of Public Health’s Environmental Health Sciences Division,
MnTAP offers tailored solutions to Minnesota businesses to be more energy efficient and to save money, all at no cost. In 2016, MnTAP provided assistance to 279 companies with 56 of those companies implementing solutions and saving $1.3 million so far.
“We provide technical assistance to support material, energy and water efficiency,” director Laura Babcock told Finance & Commerce. “It really is a win-win.”
