Samantha Rosner chose to pursue the MPH in Public Health Administration and Policy (PHAP) because she wants a career that centers on making improvements in the quality of and access to health care for underserved populations.

Her interest in health disparities stems from work as an analyst on clinical drug trials where she sought patients who would quality for these trials.  There she noticed populations who did not have the access and quality of health care they needed and deserved in their everyday life.

She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a BS in Interdisciplinary Health with a concentration in Health Diversity. There she volunteered with a non-profit health care consumer organization and interned at a Level 1 Trauma Center. These experiences gave her a chance to work directly with the local population and develop an understanding of their health care needs.

In addition to her PHAP coursework, Rosner volunteers for a student subcommittee of the Health Disparities Work Group and assists with the Diversity Matters workshops.
