A leading academic journal focused on cardiovascular care of cancer patients has recognized University of Minnesota School of Public Health (SPH) alumna Elizabeth J. Polter with its 2024 Young Author Achievement Award. The accolade recognizes Polter’s manuscript, “Cardiovascular Disease with Hormone Therapy and Ovarian Suppression in Premenopausal Breast Cancer Survivors,” which was published in the December 2024 issue of JACC: CardioOncology
Polter, PhD ’23, whose research interests include cancer survivorship, LGBTQIA+ health equity, and occupational health, is currently an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Polter will officially receive the award later this month at the JACC Editorial Board meeting during the American College of Cardiology’s 2025 Scientific Sessions in Chicago.
