Overview of Participant Visit(s)

Participation in ECHO MN consists of two prenatal study visits and a series of up to eight visits after your child is born. During the two prenatal visits, we will collect height and weight measurements, biospecimens including blood and urine, and surveys. As your child grows, the study will follow their progress through visits spread across key developmental stages from birth up to six years. Families will be asked to participate in one visit during each of the following time points after their child’s birth:

  • 0-5 months
  • 6-11 months
  • 12-23 months
  • 24-35 months
  • 3 years
  • 4 years
  • 5 years

What will a visit look like and include?

If you choose to participate in a research study that is part of the ECHO Program, you will also have the chance to share your information with ECHO. At study visits, you may be asked to answer questions about your health or environment, or to give samples such as a urine sample. Your study team can answer any questions you have about the ECHO Program and what type of information will be collected. We know that privacy is important, and ECHO will take great care to protect your information.
